Woodlawn Manor

Woodlawn Manor is an 1800 Georgian-style manor house located in Sandy Spring, MD. The gorgeous grounds include rolling green pastures, beautiful gardens, a gazebo and a historic stone barn. This location offers a variety of backdrops for your photography session. The Manor is also rich in history and highlights the area’s agricultural and Quaker history and is a designated National Park Service National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site.

Hours

Park grounds and trail are open dawn to dusk, free of charge.

Photography Permits/Fees:

Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park requires a paid photography permit for all posed photography sessions held 7 days a week, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm including family portraits, prom photos, quinceaneras, engagement, wedding, other life occasions and all  filmography.  

A photo permit IS required when:

  • Your photo session will be held between the hours of 9 am – 5 pm

  • The primary purpose of your visit is to capture photos of your family/group

  • A photographer (professional or hobbyist) is accompanying you to take photos of you or your group

  • You or any member of your party is wearing formal attire/costume/wedding attire

A photo permit is NOT required when:

  • Your photo session will be completed before/after 9 am – 5 pm (All M-NCPPC/WMCP rules apply.)

  • Photos taken are personal mementos of the museum visit/activities you are attending at WMCP

Permits must be purchased at least 3 weeks prior to the photo session. Permits begin at $50 and depend on the size of the group and how far in advance the permit is requested. Visit permit page for more information.
