Sugar Loaf Mountain

While this location is in Frederick County; its close proximity and gorgeous backdrops make it a great option for a photoshoot location near Montgomery County. Sugar Loaf Mountain is a privately owned park that is located close to Barnseville, MD. There is a network of trails, so be prepared for some hiking. The summit is located about ten minutes from the parking lot up a steep and rocky trail. However the spectacular and breathtaking views at the summit makes it well worth it.

Hours

Park hours are from 8 a.m. until sunset. The front gate is closed one hour prior to sunset. They request that everyone be off the property by sunset.

Entry Fees

Visitors are requested to make a voluntary donation of $5 or more. Donations provide funding for maintenance of property and facilities.
