Why Family Sessions with Older Kids Are Important
Time flies so fast! One second you have a house full of toddlers, the next second your kids are off to college. When your kids were first born, you took a thousand pictures. You wanted to document every precious moment, every little detail. You may have also hired a professional for a newborn session, to document your transition to parenthood. Over time your family may have grown and life got busier, but you still found time to have at least one family photography session a year.
But as your kids got even older, there were track meets, soccer games, dance recitals, and so many activities to fit into a busy family schedule. All of a sudden, your oldest is about to graduate from high school and the only family pictures you have printed in your home are so many years old. It’s so important to keep documenting your family story even when life gets in your way. If you document all stages of your kids’ lives, they will have memories to look back on, not just from when they are babies, but from they are teenagers and adults as well.
This is why I was so happy to work with this mom of four who wanted to update her family’s portraits. Her oldest was about to graduate from high school and will be off to college next year. The portraits hanging in their home was taken many years back and didn’t represent who her family is today. So we got together one sunny afternoon to make new memories and freeze a moment in time before everything changes.
I would love to work with your family to document your story! If you are interested in creating memories together click on the button below to contact me!
